Although Myrtle Beach isn't a Mecca for gay and lesbian travelers, it is an ideal place to kick back and relax. Gays and lesbians will find suitable accommodations at many of the popular chain hotels. Since it is South Carolina, it's best to stay away from the mom-and-pop hotels, as many of the owners may not be trained in "gay etiquette."

Gay men will want to stop by Time Out on 8th Ave., a popular neighborhood club. And, if you're staying in South Myrtle Beach, be sure to visit the Metropolis, a famous nightspot that sits directly behind the Pavilion.
